What is OrniSinj?
OrniSinj is a specialized event dedicated to bird breeding, judging and exhibition.
The international exhibition is traditionally held on the third weekend of November and is organized by the DALMATIA Association for Bird Breeding and Protection under the patronage of the City of Sinj, with the support of the STAGLIN Society of Bird Lovers, the PYRRHULA Association of Bird Breeders and the Croatian Ornithological Federation.
The exhibition has been held since 2010, with interruptions due to avian influenza and the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s exhibition is the 12th edition. Each year, it continues to confirm its status as a key bird exhibition in the region, with plans for further development, greater public involvement and international cooperation. To date, exhibitors from Croatia, Belgium, Slovenia, Serbia, Italy and Hungary have participated in the exhibition.
OrniSinj brings together bird breeders and enthusiasts for a three-day event that includes the reception and judging of birds, an exhibition open to the public, and an awards ceremony for the most successful breeders. Prestigious awards such as the “Paolo Gregorutti Trophy”, “Best Bird”, “Best Hybrid” and “Best Collection” are among the highlights of the event, encouraging breeders and promoting high standards of quality.
Our Mission
OrniSinj’s mission is to promote excellence in ornithology, encourage sustainable bird breeding and improve the quality of breeding practices. At the same time, the event serves as a platform for education, knowledge exchange and strengthening international cooperation among bird breeders.

Bird Protection and Awareness of Their Importance
Birds are among the most important indicators of the health of the natural environment. Their presence, behaviour and abundance tell us how balanced and well-preserved our ecosystems are. Protecting birds in the wild is therefore not only about caring for birds themselves, but also an investment in the future of our entire planet.

Education and Young People
We pay particular attention to working with schoolchildren. Through workshops, field trips and educational projects, we aim to introduce children to the world of birds. By teaching them to observe, identify and respect birds, we are helping to raise generations that will care for nature with love and responsibility.

Why Is It Important?
By protecting birds, we also protect forests, rivers, meadows and all the other ecosystems we share. Birds are our allies in preserving the natural balance, and awareness of their importance is a foundation for a sustainable and healthy society.
